Sometimes it's best to let a sock go...

The one I was trying to knit didn't survive through the first round of ribbing. It's probably time to face that I don't have the dexterity to knit a sock in fingering weight. Too bad.

I think what I really need to do is finish a scarf I have that's been on the needles for 13 years. Yes, 13. I don't know why I never frogged it but it's half done so I may as well finish it.

As for socks, I think I'm going to look for a crochet pattern. It's harder to construct them that way, but my hands should be able to handle it. We'll see.

I'm trying to knit socks.

I did knit one successful pair north of a dozen years ago and my oldest child still wears them. I had a failed pair after that that promptly sprouted holes in the toes. I don't remember why.

Said oldest child convinced me to try again, as they've become an avid sock knitter themselves.

I am seriously in the first round of the ribbing and ready to run away from home. I know it gets drastically better after the first few rounds so I'll keep going, however slowly.

Once there's enough to show I'll get a picture. The yarn is gorgeous.
